Introducing CEO Talks: Fireside Chat - Volume 1

(4-min reading)

Welcome to our Clients, Colleagues and Friends,

CEO Talks is a series of interviews where you get to know us better. The topics for discussion will cover anything from business through CSR activities, and practical advice on how to stay motivated and keep pushing to succeed. We will also share our struggles along the way, because we are also humans :).

A personal touch will always take precedence over fancy brands, marketing, and offices in the City.

Ready to get started?

Seeing as this marks the launch of the series, we'll cover some basic introductory questions today, keeping it relatively short and sweet, of course.

Tell us more about your racing career and how you started?

My name is George, and I have founded PitchTek UK Ltd. in 2022. Prior to this Project, I was invited to serve a Consulting firm in West London as a GM and Board Member. This company started from a living room to now be a 30+ people business with 3-offices around the world.

Could you tell us more about your career as a professional racing driver and your passion for racing?

As a child, I was always curious about the world around me. As a result, I have always taken part in creative and sporting activities outside of school.

My love for motor racing began between the age of 12-14, and ever since, it has been a significant part of my life. This has naturally translated into a career as a motor cycle racing driver winning multiple championship titles.

Formula 1 or MotoGP?

This is a tough question... I love Formula 1 due to the fact that we see how cross-sector collaboration fuels innovation. Although not everyone realizes this, F1 systems are used in settings such as hospitals, supermarkets, and factories, with applications from toothpaste production to patient safety.

It is likely you have heard of ''Project Pitlane'', an F1 initiative during Covid where teams teamed up to provide critical equipment and provide life-saving support, something that will go down in history (if you want to find out more, please follow this link).

We can learn a lot from the high-speed, high-pressure world of Formula 1, and I have always been curious about how we can optimize our processes and become better at what we do by being aware of the world around us, and exploring how the world of F1 is approaching and solving their challenges.

On the other hand, you have MotoGP where you get to see some of the greatest athletes on the planet. There is a lot of wheel to wheel hard racing with no team orders.

Both MotoGP and F1 are great examples of what humans are capable of when they work together as a team.

What are the similarities between being an entrepreneur and being a professional athlete?

There are a lot of similarities, with one of the main being, preparation is key!

I personally believe that practicing any sport from a very young age can only help you succeed. It does help you become a better version of yourself. It teaches you discipline, commitment, team work, the importance of hard work, focus, and it does give you this competitive and strategic spirit which is essential to succeed in the corporate world.

Have you ever felt self-doubt before starting PitchTek?

Yes, but this is part of our brain's natural protection and preparation for the work ahead.

It happens to CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, professional athletes, and even presidents. The problem arises when these thoughts paralyze us and we take no action.

What do you think about remote work?

For me personally, it has always been about putting the right people in the right jobs and making sure that every person understands our company values and the importance of using these as guiding principles in delivering service.

‍What books are you currently reading?

A good friend of mine has recently recommended ‘’The Mental Toughness Handbook’’ by Damon Zahariades, which I have downloaded and listened to every night. In addition, I also like following podcasts.

How can someone get in touch with you?

It is easy, just go to the contact us section, complete the form, and someone will be in touch to organize a call.

Thank you for reading!
